
I’ve been trying (inconsistently) to get into running and fitness and such. It’s been quite a few years since I’ve done any kind of physical activity where my heart goes above 110 bpm, so when I do exercise, my body is, well, lets just say I feel like I’m being held together by duct tape haha.
Today in particular, on my run everything was okay for the first 1.5km. After that the stitches (?) in my ribs and diaphragm was intense. Like, way intense. To the point where I considered keeling over and crying.
Normally I do get some kind of stitch or soreness in my ribs when I run, but today was something else entirely.
Coupled with my instantly cramping calves whenever I stopped and voila! my run was completed at 2km – feeling like 100km and like my limbs were going to start sliding off.
I do wonder, how many other people get this pain when they run, or did start running, and how long did it last?
